Everything You Need to Know About Dark Wave Comedy and Good Cop Rad Cop

Dark Wave Comedy operates at the intersection of alternative culture and stand-up, drawing from the same aesthetic DNA as the post-punk and darkwave music scenes that have long influenced underground comedy. The name is not just branding — it signals a specific sensibility: dry, atmospheric, a little menacing, and relentlessly smart. This is comedy for people who grew up on black eyeliner and Minor Threat records and never quite shook either.

Good Cop Rad Cop brings a contrasting but equally committed energy to the stage. Their name alone signals a willingness to subvert expectations, and their performance style rewards audiences who pay close attention. The dynamic between the two acts — Dark Wave Comedy's brooding intensity against Good Cop Rad Cop's more anarchic approach — is the engine that drives this event forward.

Together, these two acts make The Masquerade & Emo Nite Present: Dark Wave Comedy | 18+ one of the most conceptually interesting comedy bookings Atlanta has seen in this format. The Halloween timing is not incidental — it is essential. Both acts perform best when the room has a little danger in the air, and October 31st at The Masquerade delivers exactly that.

Plan Your Night at The Masquerade

The Masquerade sits in the heart of Downtown Atlanta, making it one of the most accessible major venues in the city. Fans coming from Midtown, Buckhead, or Decatur all have straightforward routes in, and the venue's central location means you are never far from post-show dining and bars along Peachtree Street or in the surrounding neighborhoods.

For transit, MARTA is the smartest move on a Halloween Saturday. The Five Points station drops you within a short walk of The Masquerade, and using MARTA eliminates the headache of Halloween-night parking entirely. If you are driving, the surrounding Downtown Atlanta area has multiple parking decks — arrive at least 30 to 45 minutes early to secure a spot without stress.

Because this is an 18+ event, bring valid government-issued photo ID. There are no exceptions at the door. Costumes are not only welcome — on Halloween night at The Masquerade, they are practically required. The venue's historic architecture, with its vaulted ceilings and moody interior, turns costumed crowds into a spectacle of their own. Doors typically open 30 to 60 minutes before showtime, so arriving early gets you the best position on the floor and access to the bar before the rush hits.
